Infrared Sauna

Saunas encourage relaxation, alleviate discomfort, and enhance overall well-being. The elevated temperatures trigger sweating, and as your heart rate rises, more blood is circulated to your skin. This is your body's natural way of cooling itself down.

Unlike traditional saunas that use steam to heat the air’s temperature, infrared saunas use infrared panels to warm your body directly, rather than heating the air around you.

For your enjoyment, your private room will include: Cold towels (with Aroma Therapy Oils) & cold water to cool down your body. Music is available (Smart Phones do work well inside, if kept down low). Sauna holds 2-3 people (depending on size).

How to Use an Infrared Sauna

Stay hydrated: Drink a glass of water before entering the sauna to ensure you're properly hydrated. It's also a good idea to bring water with you into the sauna, especially if you're sensitive to heat.

Start slow: Infrared saunas typically operate between 100˚F and 150˚F (38°C to 66°C). If you're new to infrared saunas, it’s best to begin with short sessions, such as 5 minutes, and gradually increase the time. Our sauna is in a private room so you’re able to come in and out as much as you’d like.

Allow time to cool down: After your session, give your body time to cool down before doing anything else. Once you're cool, you can shower or take a bath. Don’t forget to rehydrate afterward.

Dress comfortably: You can wear whatever feels comfortable for you. Some people prefer bathing suits, while others prefer to go in without clothes.

Relax: Use your sauna time to unwind. Whether you read, meditate, listen to music, or chat with friends, take the time to relax. Just avoid falling asleep during your session.

What to Wear in an Infrared Sauna

Loose-fitting clothing: A cotton t-shirt, towel, or swimsuit are all good options. Loose clothing allows your body to sweat and breathe.

Natural fibers: Cotton and linen are breathable fabrics that help regulate heat. Avoid synthetic materials.

No tight underwear: Tight underwear, especially bras, can be uncomfortable in the sauna's high heat and humidity.

No jewelry or accessories: Avoid wearing jewelry and accessories in the sauna.

No creams or lotions: Don't wear creams or lotions in the sauna.

Towel: Put your towel on the bench to protect it from bacteria and keep the seat clean.

Footwear: You can go barefoot, or wear thin, breathable socks if you have a foot condition or want to be hygienic. We have sandals that you’re free to use.

Are Infrared Saunas Safe?

Yes! Sauna’s a great when used with consideration. Before your first session, keep these important points in mind:

  • Avoid alcohol: Don’t use the sauna if you’ve been drinking alcohol, as it can increase the risk of dehydration and dizziness.
  • Wait if you're unwell: If you're feeling sick or have a fever, it’s best to postpone your sauna session until you’re feeling better.
  • Be mindful of lightheadedness: The intense sweating may leave you feeling lightheaded. If this happens, rise slowly, sit down after leaving the sauna, and make sure to hydrate.
  • Rehydrate and cool down: Drink water right after your session, and give your body time to cool down before resuming any activities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is it safe to use an infrared sauna every day?
A: While most sauna facilities recommend using an infrared sauna 3 to 4 times per week, some individuals may be able to tolerate daily sessions without issue. While sauna use is generally safe, you should avoid it if:

  • You have multiple sclerosis: People with this condition may not tolerate heat well.
  • You’re pregnant: High heat, especially in early pregnancy, could pose risks to your baby and potentially cause birth defects.
  • You’re trying to conceive: Prolonged exposure to high heat may lower sperm count.
  • You’re ill: It's best to wait until you've fully recovered before using a sauna.

Q: Can an infrared sauna help burn fat?
A: No, an infrared sauna does not directly burn body fat. The heat may cause temporary water weight loss through sweating, but it doesn’t promote fat loss.
